Guest guest
, Was his case of measles documented by a doctor? If it was, shouldn't he already have a natural immunity against measles? (sorry I don't remember if this is something one can get more than once, but I don't think so) If he has a natural immunity against it, then why on earth would he need a booster shot? Finally - my response would be something along the lines of: Are you prepared for the lawsuit I will file if my Autistic child has a bad reaction to this shot you are forcing me to give him? It seems like the phrasing of " Autism and immunization " might perk someone's ears up and make them hesitate about pursuing this with you. I don't know if that is legal in Canada, heck I don't know if it's legal here in the US - I don't think you can actually sue a school system for this, but I think I would say it none-the-less. LOL.. <sigh> ~ Karin

Guest guest
> i got a letter today i knew would come around eventually. rowan has been put on notice that he has a week to get his MMR shot. i don't think he " got autism " from his shot. he did get measles from it though. i don't want to risk this kind of reaction or worse. any idea how i go about refusing this shot. > michelle mg I got a waiver called something like 'statement of conscience' from public health. I had to fill it out and have my doctor sign it. There was no hassle; it was just inconvenient. Call your public health office. They can put you in touch with the immunization people! I forgot to mention - part of the waiver says that if there is even a hint of a measles, mumps, or rubella outbreak you have to keep your non-immunized kid home until the crisis passes. Small price to pay, I think. Jacquie
