Guest guest
Tim,So is the unflavored just real salty?Lee > ... Oddly, Jim chooses unflavored toilet > bowl margaritas from hell over the more palatable option of > swallowing Visicol pills with water. go figure!) I don't find it odd at all! I prefer the unflavored gallon also. It has less risk of upsetting electrolytes and doing more than just cleaning out the digestive track. Unflavored, there is no strong aftertaste to get out of my mouth. I also don't chill it. Chilled, it makes me too cold. Tap water temperature (about 50 - 55 F) is how I take it. I can understand how other may like flavored, chilled or the little pills - I'm glad we have a choice so we can each avoid some of the unpleasantries of preparing for a colonoscopy. Guest guest
Thanks Tim, I have promised my Dr. that I will have this test by 55, by then I hope they have a better prep! In the meantime I will put this in my keeper file should I need to go with the standard prep. Guest guest
Judy had her first last month (July will be my 19th). She had the phosphate regimen. Based on what I've seen of the last 10 or so of mine, I'd say her prep was not as effective as Go-Lytely, and probably not much more palatable (and the endoscopist was not nearly as good as mine). I WILL say she doesn't think she'll have another one - ever. I wouldn't hold my breath for a better prep. Guest guest
Arne, Kudos to Judy for getting the job done. Hmmmmm. It would be hard to dismiss this view of such an expert. 19 times!!! Did you use the Go-lytely every time? Lee > Judy had her first last month (July will be my 19th). She had the > phosphate > regimen. Guest guest
It's changed over the years, but still an electrolyte type. There are a couple of different manufacturers now. Flavors were not available 20 years ago (but it doesn't really matter that much). Go-lytely http://www.nulytely.com/golytely/ and Co-lyte http://www.colyte.com/ are the two I've used.
