Guest guest
HI . My son Brodie was born on 11-28-02 with bi-lateral clubfoot also. He was casted, had the tenotomy, and then got the DBB....Well, he hated it, and frankly, so did I. He did not wear it at all for the first 4 weeks...I got VERY lucky because when he went back to the doc last week I thought for sure he would get casts on again, luckily he didnt. I have done and continue to do the stretchs. I came home from the doc and put his shoes and bar on and decided no matter what he was going to keep them on. It does suck but, I can tell you it gets easier and better for both of you. Brodie still gets a little frusrated but, he eventually gets over it. I hope it gets better for you soon, no matter what just leave them on. Jill

Guest guest
Thanks all: Jill - wow you know my feeling exactly, I don't know who's cried more the past two days Spencer or myself. Of all the things for him to have as a birth defect this one is fixable, but still....(sigh). - I live in Clinton, NJ and am currently seeing Hunterdon Ortho. Yes Spencer's case is mild as his doctor's have indicated so that may be the reason for not having the procedure. As for rotating his foot yes, we can rotate so I am attributing his heel issue to the inserts at this point. Today was much less painful, he really didn't seem to mind being in them, although I am having to constantly check them and place them back in the shoes about 10x a day. Thanks all for your information I will call tomorrow to see if we can get the inserts.
