How do we know if that is iodized or not?? Dr. Ain says they're okay ... who's gonna argue :-) > How about 4C raspberry instant iced tea mix? No sodium, doesn't look > like any forbidden red dyes. But, I thought I remembered reading it > was not allowed. I would agree that they're not. That's another mystery LID category ... instant tea and coffee .... I'd save that tea mix for after the diet (BTW - I make iced tea by putting a few tea bags in a container of water, then letting it sit out on the counter for a while. Not quite as instant as mixing powder into water, but not a whole lot of work) > Pasta and rice are alright as long as the sodium is nil? as long as there are no added ingredients that would be disallowed (salt, eggs .....) > How about a drink like crystal light? If' it's a mix, I'd avoid it (even though it's probably fine) > I know fried food isn't the best anyway, but would fresh chicken (legs > or wings) dipped in egg whites and flour be O.K. if they were fried in > Canola oil? absolutely! > I see a lot of recipes in the LID call for vegetable oil. That is a no, > no too right? Aren't we supposed to substitute it for non-soy oil like > canola? Most oils sold as " vegetable oil " are a blend, usually including soy. I think when " vegetable oil " is included in an LID recipe, that it's intended to be a generic (non soy) oil from vegetables, as opposed to " Vegetable Oil " . Or at least that's my take on it. > ... By the way, anyone using unsalted matzos, be > careful. ALWAYS check all labels! good luck with the diet, and with your upcoming scan -
