Guest guest
Hi Annie, I am 26 weeks along, and I have gained 20 pounds, and I hate to say it, but its all been in the past 2 months. I'm hoping to not gain too much more the rest of the pregnancy, but if its another 10 pounds thats ok with me. I dont like the weight gain, it makes me nervous, but this is considered a normal gain, so I will just concentrate on that. I gained 69 pounds in my first pregnancy due party to having pre eclampsia, and to be honest, I was one of those types that figured since I was pregnant, I could eat whatever I wanted lol........This pregnancy has been better, obviously I cant eat as much as I could in my pregnancy prior to WLS, so that definately helps. Anyway, good luck to you! Marcy Wallis edd 12/08/02 Baby Boy!!! Weight Gain & Food Hi all! I am 13 weeks pregnant and have already gained about 10-14 lbs. Does anyone know how much weight we are expected to gain throughout our pregnancy? Has anyone gained as much as I have? lol ... I will admit my food choices have not been as good as they could be, or as good as they were before I was pregnant. I am finding myself craving things I haven't desired since I had my surgery (8/27/01). Let me know what some of you have gone through, or your thoughts... !! Thank you so much! Guest guest
Annie- I think there are alot of contributing factors to how quickly a person gains and how MUCH a person gains during a post wls pregnancy. A couple of those factors are how long it has been since your surgery and how much weight you lost AFTER your surgery. I know that I was over 2 years post-op when I got pregnant and I think that benefited me greatly as I had stabilized with my weight for 6+ months. Also, at my very lowest, I was about 15# underweight so I had a little flexibility to work with there, too. The amount of weight you should gain during an ideal pregnancy will depend on what you weighed at your first appt. If you were within the proper range for your height, you can be expected to gain 25-30 #'s. If you were OVER your proper range for your height, your dr might ask you to try to watch it and gain less than that and vice/versa if you were UNDER your proper range. At least, this is how my ob explained it to me. I was told that I should gain 30-35 #'s during my 9 months of pregnancy and I've gained about 10# so far at about 17 wks. _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com

Guest guest
Hi Annie, We're both about 13/14 weeks, but I haven't gained any weight yet. Although you can't tell by looking at me. I think my weight is transferring from my legs to my belly because I look way more prig than I should. Like you, I'm craving all kinds of bad stuff. I'm also eating way more than I should. My surgery nurse (who had 2 kids after rny) says that I should gain about 30 lbs during this pregnancy (versus the 70+ I put on last time). I hope that helps. See you at the next support group meeting! Rusty - Hill, CA edd 3/1/03 (Dr. changed due date AGAIN) > Hi all! > > I am 13 weeks pregnant and have already gained about > 10-14 lbs.
