Guest guest
My youngest daughter is 3 1/2. Mild to moderate loss. Digifocus II aids in both ears. We have been trying to get her into the sound booth to test her hearing seperately in each ear, but she isn't catching on to the test. She wants to be right and make the audiologist happy so she says she heard the sounds even when the audi didn't play any. I think her Left ear is better than the Right ear, but until we can test her ears seperately the HAs will be set to the same program. Big sister has progressive loss, so we want to keep on top of this too. Audi said there is a websited with games for her to play that is called something like " ear aerobics " but i haven't found it, or anything like it. she also suggested play games like musical chairs with her to get her used to noticing when sounds are there and when they aren't. Do you have any other suggestions on games to play or how to prep her to test again? We tried this at 3yo back in Feb and she was having the same issues. Different audi. That time they wanted her to drop a ball into a basket when she heard the sound, she would always wait to see if the audiologist's cued her before she would do anything. Her AI itinerant teacher is on family leave right now and won't be back til after we test Sara again. In the meantime, I can ask the preschool teacher to work with her if there is a game or something that would be good for the whole classroom, and i will work with her at home.
