Guest guest
Hey y'all, Just wanted to let everybody know, it looks like folks are taking this one seriously. For those that don't know, I'm out in the Ft Stockton/Pecos area in far west Texas. Every motel and campground in this area is already full, and the Red Cross is starting to set up and fill shelters out here. We've even got a couple of the churches here that are setting up beds in their basements to handle people that haven't got any place else to go. The local nursing home is getting an influx too. They got 12 in this morning and were expecting probably as many as 23 more. That's gonna put about a dozen in the halls, but they are gonna have a go at it. At least Texas people aint gonna let their old folks drown in a nursing home where everybody else has already left. We've got one crew down around Corsicana(sp) that is helping with evacuations and my partner and I are on standby to go. Our guys are telling us its a mad house with everybody trying to get out. Our ambulance got side swiped and lost a mirror while transporting 2 hospice patients. So, everybody that is there, watch your little butts( or is some cases not so little butts), looks like the crazies are out in force. Keep your heads down guys, and maybe I'll be seeing you in a few days. Joe T
