The LID is the low iodine diet, something you, too, will soon know a lot about :-) The idea is to remove as much dietary iodine as possible in the 2 weeks before RAI scan or treatment, in order to maximize RAI uptake. Some doctors (including my own) don't bother recommending it to their patients, but the experts who contribute to this list are among those who do recommend it, and it makes a lot of sense.
