Hi Lacey,

Ugh, drama, it sounds like you have had your share. No one makes it

easy for Mom! So glad to hear you got your son banded and that the

torticollis has resolved with therapy. I will be anxious to hear

your " keeping cool strategies " for the upcoming months. Keep us

posted please, let us know how he does in his band next week.

Whew! Well the great news is that your son's head is just fine!

What a scare though!

Welcome to the group! Where are going for treatment? I know that

you are worried about the heat but my son was banded in " Hotlanta "

alll summer long and actually rarely sweated. It does depend on the

child and you'll need to dress him lightly. Keep us posted!

Lacey,

Unfortunately plagio and drama seem to go together, lol. Look in the

files for insurance help, maybe there will be something to help you.

You amy have alot of sweating for the first week, but he will adjust

to it soon enough. Dress him lightly, maybe just a diaper and a light

t-shirt at night for sleeping. Let us know how it goes.

I am really worried about the sweating because he sweats SO much to

begin with. I have even asked the doctor about the sweating in

general because I have NEVER saw a baby sweat like this. I can only

imagine how much worse it will be with the helmet. I am afraid that

we'll end up not being able to wear it because of the sweating. I

wonder what causes him to sweat like that. I am losing faith in the

pediatrician really quick, so I am takig her replies with a grai of

salt at this time. Thanks for the advice! It is greatly

appreciated.

Hi, Natasha! Thanks for the reply. I grew up in Lafayette, about

two hours north of Atlanta. My dad lives in Atlanta now.

Hapeville, actually. What a scare indeed. Those folks are trying

to give me a nervous brakedown. I am glad to hear your child did

well. Hope things are still great. sweats profusely

already. He has since he was born. It is just crazy at times how

much he sweats for no reason. I can only imagine what it will be

like when you add the helmet in the equation. I am afraid he'll end

up not being able to wear it. I have asked the doctor about he

sweating a thousand times, and she brushes it off. I am ready to

come home to good 'ol Georgia where I know all the doctors and trust

them. These doctors in Pensacola are something else.

Hi Lacey! Sounds like you have really went through a lot dealing with

your son's plagio/tort! My son is getting his helmet next week also

and I'm so nervous about him adjusting to it! I hope it goes smooth!

I wish you luck with getting his helmet and keep us updated! I'm

sure I'll be posting a lot of questions on here after Waydon gets his

helmet! It helps a lot to have these ladies who know the answers to

what we're going through!! Good luck!!

Lacey, I put baby powder in his helmet and that seems to help a lot

w/his sweating and the smell.

Hope that helps!
