As most of you know already I am not a huge fan of doctors usually (except

our Dr-to-be Cat of course...how is THAT for ass covering hehe!!) but I think in

this circumstance as with most others dealing with

doctors//weight//exercise..they are pretty much damned if they do and damned if

they dont. MOST people

with health issues exacerbated by weight do NOT want their drs to mention

it..talk about it...discuss it...they just want to get in and out of the office

w/o

a lecture about what they ''should be doing'' or ''could be doing'' better.

As most of us have admitted we HATE even being weighed at the Drs office!! We

complain that Drs dont know enough//arent educated enough about nutrition

etc..which to some extent IS true HOWEVER....HOWEVER.....most people who are

overweight do not need extensive nutrition counseling or an MD to know WHY they

are overweight or WHY exercise is important. No they may not know or be aware of

the specifics or the mechanics of it all but you can rest assured anyone with

even 20 lbs to lose knows exactly how that weight was gained...and conversely

they know what changes to make to lose them. But its hard. Its veryyyyyyyyyy

hard and we all know this. I guess I am saying all this to say that yes this

particular dr could have spent 10 mins ''explaining'' exercise or he could say

simply what he knows to be true ..if you arent going to stick to it dont

bother but still encourage her weight loss.

I am sure there was a point to this when I started typing lol but I seem to

have lost it now!! Well other than we cannot come down too hard on Drs for not

''policing us better'' when they dont have access to anymore or better

information than the general public does. Eat better, eat less, move more, drink

up

and you will be fine. Its not rocket science.

Hugs

Shan
