Guest guest
Great news in the world of getting insurance coverage for cranial helmets--Blue Cross of Illinios settled a lawsuit filed by the state's attorney's office. They will have to pay all subscribers back who paid out of pocket for FDA approved helmets AND they will be required to offer the benefit in the future. This is a huge step and will hopefull set precedent for other insurance companies. This is a must read for everyone! Here is the link: http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/23blue.html I hope this helps some of you out there! , mom to Hannah, DOCgrad Cape Cod, Ma http://hannahsnoggin.typepad.com
Guest guest
Wow this is huge!! I think we should add the article to the insurance links and files (get it copied before they archive it). I believe it would be very valuable to include in all appeals. I'll add it to the insruance 1st steps file. mom to na DOC Grad www.thefilyaws.com <sarahhollis@...> wrote: Great news in the world of getting insurance coverage for cranial helmets--Blue Cross of Illinios settled a lawsuit filed by the state's attorney's office. Guest guest
That is wonderful!!!! However, I just think it is so weird that BCBS of KY covered Ellie's helmet at 90% with no questions asked. It is strange how basically the same company will cover it in one state but not the next. There should be some type of reform, I think. Anyway, that is great news for all the Illnois kiddos! >From: Filyaw <monicash@...> >Reply-Plagiocephaly >Plagiocephaly >Subject: Re: HUGE Insurance News-BCBS Settles Helmet Lawsuit--MUST >Read!!! >Date: Wed, 25 May 2005 07:20:01 -0700 (PDT) > >Wow this is huge!! Guest guest
Wow this is great news!!!! Maybe the insurance companies wil get on the doctors to educate mommies when the babies are born. Oh, how I wish someone had just said to me to make sure she is sleeping on both sides, the tort would have been picked up so much sooner. Guest guest
This is great news! We have BCBS out of MN, and they are going to cover 80% after we meet our deductable. We would end up paying almost $1000 out of pocket, which is better than the whole $2200. We are getting medical assistance though, to go along with our BCBS, so that will cover the deductible and the 20%, so I am happy about that!
