Guest guest
I had my ablation in November. I kept having episodes with what I thought was afib. I knew it would take time for the scar tissue to from inside my heart, so I waited it out. I charted how long I was out of sinus and the number of days between episodes. I went to my gp and got a rhythm strip and then went to my EP Cardiologist one day when I was out of sinus. It took my cardiologist a long time to get back to me, but he said what I had was a flutter. I only went into it during stressful times. I can eat most of the things that used to be my triggers. I am going longer and longer in between out of sinus situations. I wrote to Dr. Feld in San Diego, the one who did the procedure, and told him that I thought I was almost cured. By the way someone wrote about 50% cure. I think the clinic in St. Lukes in Houston is doing 80% and so is DR. Feld in San Diego. They are always getting new equipment. They had some new imaging equipment when they did me. Dr. Feld went ahead and did it the old way and watched on the new equipment. He went around each pulminary vein. My cardiologist told me they found that if they go around two of them at a time they get a better result. They also make a couple of lines: one between the veins and the other toward the Valve. I have been reading lately of others that take 6 or 7 months to get over their afib after the initial ablation.
