Guest guest
Hello everyone, I have had my children and myself on a modified SCD diet since January 1st. That was my New Years resolution - to get everyone healthy. My ds is h/f autistic and my dd is very food/additive sensitive and was on antibiotics 4 times last year for either strep or ear infections. This is where I'm at now. I say " modified " SCD because their diet is so limited. Neither child could stomach the chicken soup, so I steamed carrots and cooked the chicken (they were okay with that). My ds refuses to eat hamburgers unless there is a bun, my dd refuses to eat beef unless it's steak. I've tried the bread recipes and cannot find one that the kids will eat. They are off dairy and all grains. All our family are carboholics and crave our missed carbs. It has been very difficult, frustrating at times, but I and my ds's teacher have noticed his behaviour/attention/academic has greatly improved. I need some help with menu planning; recipes children will eat and a naturopath in our area. Are there any books, besides Elaine's book, that could help me with menu planning/recipes. We have seen an improvement in both our children and want to continue eating this way but I need some suggestions. Regarding the naturopath - we live just south of Barrie. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jane
