Guest guest
Okay, went in today for my weekly NST at the hospital and actually SAW a few little contractions on the monitor, one of which I felt a little. Then, went across the street to my scheduled weekly OB appointment and felt another one right as I was called in. Was down a pound and a half from last week, due to the flu. (Actually lost about 5 to 6 pounds, but gained some back after getting my appetite back this weekend.) The doc said I am dilated to a 3 and about 80% effaced and measuring at 36 cms. He thinks I'm measuring so small cuz the head is well engaged. Also, he said the baby is probably about 7 and a half pounds!! He asked if I wanted him to stir things up a bit and I said yep! So, he stripped my membranes. He then sent me back to the hospital to consult with someone in surgery assessment about the epidural as an option. I was diagnosed with Von Willebrand's Disease in April, which is a bleeding disorder. The anesthesiologist said he has given an epi many times to people with VW and had no bleeding problems, so I should be okay should I choose to have it. That is good to know. It all depends on where I am dilated to when I get to the hospital. I may not have much time!!! My question is, does anyone know how beneficial it is to have your membranes stripped? I know Brown had hers stripped last Friday and as of Sunday was still not in labor. I haven't heard from her lately though. , are you still there?
