> I just wasn't prepared for how much it would hurt my feelings.

Who would be? I think you should talk to him. He might say it to some kid

that would clobber him for it.

I know he wouldn't intend to hurt someone's feeling, but you never know.

, I bet Jacquie took that exactly the way you meant it. It sounded much

more " hey, we're in the same boat here, boo, hiss, " than rude, at least to

me.

Jacquie, could you just tell that fat girl is something nice people

don't say to each other? A nice little rule, perhaps?

whew, ok

> I just wasn't prepared for how much it would hurt my feelings. I know I'm

fat, and I've never pretended otherwise. I didn't expect to be so upset by it.

Jacquie <

yep, it does hurt. no matter how true it is, no matter how much you accept it.

to be told flat out by the person that you love that you are FAT is

heartbreaking :'(

> ouch! did you explain to him how this makes you feel? i know your

feelings have been somewhat important to him lately.

Well, Marc woke up right around the same time, and HE told how I felt.

became very loving and sucky towards me, but I'm afraid I was still too

hurt to be totally nice and forgiving about it. :-(

Jacquie,

Don't forget that for , it's a statement, not a case of name calling.

You know, the black and white concrete things our kids see. (I hope this

isn't making you feel worse.). I doubt that he has any idea that saying

that is hurtful or cruel....more of just an observation of big and little

with a different word.

yeah, but our kids don't know how to do that. If did, he'd really be

ahead of the rest of our kids!!

Sorry it made you feel bad anyway. I know if he's like my guys at all, you

could ask him why he said it, but he wouldn't be able to explain it to you

at all.
