Guest guest
I am fairly new to desiccated thyroid, I just started taking it the end of October. In the beginning of October I started feeling miserable. I started reading all I could from the stop the thyroid madness website. I suspected my symptoms were a combination of the start of menopause and being on T4 only drugs. I was on Synthroid for over 15 years. I didn't know what to address first, my thyroid problem or my menopause symptoms. I found a Dr. and asked to be put on natural thyroid meds. I was put on 1 grain and then raised to 1 1/2 grains after 2 weeks. I just raised to 2 grains 2 weeks ago. I am taking Erfa. I had a saliva test at the same time and found out I am in stage 2 of adrenal fatigue. I am taking liquorice, ashwanda and rhidola. I also learned my ferritin was low (35) so I started supplimenting iron. In the beginning of December I was feeling the best I have felt in a long time on 1 1/2grain. Right before the holidays I started to feel hypo symptoms again. Achy and fatigued all the time. I attributed it to lots going on during the holidays. I raised again to 2 grains, 1 grain AM and 1 grain PM. I had a blood draw last week. The last two days I have felt terrible. My knees and the muscles in the back of my legs ache so bad. I started taking an extra 1/2 grain, even though I hadn't seen my labs. I just felt so bad and the extra 1/2 grain did take the aches away. My Dr. is concerned about my high antibodies. I have Hashis. I told her I was taking the 2 grains and still felt really bad. I didn't tell her about the extra 1/2 grain I took the last 2 days. She said she didn't want to raise me too much because of the high T3 She raised me 1/4 grain and will retest me in a few weeks. She said my reverse t3 is good! Can you believe that!! Since last night I have been reading about reverse T3 and now I think I have this issue also. Believe it or not she is the only Dr. that will prescribe natural thyriod in this area. She does listen to me but I have to be my own health advocate. ly I don't know how much more I can deal with. I just want to feel better. My menopause symptoms are driving me crazy, and I am not sure whats thyroid and whats menopause symptoms. The Dr. suggested I try bioidentical hormones. A low dose of estrodol and progesterone cream. I was going to try the hormones because at least that will help me feel better but now I am afraid to start something else that might cause more thyroid issues. What do you think? I am concerned about the possible Rt3 issue and my low ferritin. I feel like I just found out about natural thyroid and the thought of having to stop it and go on just T3 is really scaring me! Here are my recent labs. Please help because I am so nervous and don't know what I should do. I just want to feel better! I need someone to help me. Should I go back down to 1 1/2 grains? Do you think I could have always had a RT3 issue and didn't know because I was never tested for it, or is this new? I have never had high T3 or High T4 at any time. Should I start the hormone therapy? I am taking 200 selenium can I increase to 400 because of high antibodies. Sorry, I have so many questions... Here are my labs. I was taking 2 grains and I did not take my thyroid meds the day of the blood draw.
