Guest guest Posted October 4, 2004 Report Share Posted October 4, 2004 Ok, I have 2 questions. Do those of you who have Dry and Store use them nightly? If so, do they make the molds a little sticky? Also, Ian really doesn't pull them out that often, but when he does its only his right one. That is the " louder " one and I am wondering if it is too loud?! Any advice? We have an appt in a week, but I was just curious. Thanks so much for all your help! Guest guest Posted October 4, 2004 Report Share Posted October 4, 2004 Tawnya- We use our Dry & Store every night; it's just a nice, safe place to keep her aids when they're not in her ears. Do her aids need it every night? No, but it just makes life easier to use it every night. The other bonus is that I don't worry about it if her aids miss a night in the dryer (e.g., a sleepover at her grandparents, the D & S has an error message and doesn't run through the whole cycle, etc.). There are a zillion different reasons for why Ian pulls out his right hearing aid. Keep observing him and, if you see any consistent behaviors, call the audiologist with your question. Hadley used to pull her right aid out more frequently because she is right-handed and was more physically developed on her right side. She's also pulled out aids because the mold went too deep into her ear, her ear was irritated, the microphone was malfunctioning... there can be tons of reasons, so keep on watching. It's probably nothing, but it's good training for you to become familiar with how he reacts to different things with his aids (just like you know all of his other quirks!).
