Guest guest
Hi Louise, Does this mean you are taking no meds of any kind and are in remission? I am so happy for you. Will they still monitor you like once a year or so? Guest guest
Hi Louise, Good for you! Make sure you keep up with the symptoms; hyper, hypO and eyes...if you have any pop up, call and request labs so if something is kicking into gear again you can nip it in the butt right away. Hopefully you are one who will stay in remission! Am going to paste the symptoms list for you, print it and stick it in a draw or on the frig, just somewhere that you can look at if things don't feel right...hopefully you will just be able to throw it out Remission success stories are so worth celebrating! Guest guest
Hi Sonya, Yes to the weakness. I have been moving more hypO with the PTU eye treatment. You haven't been on synthroid long enough for it to get into your system...usually takes 4-6 weeks, if memory serves me right, but hopefully you will start feeling some of the effects very very soon. If in another week you are still feeling this way, call the doc! Guest guest
I was hypo for a little while from ATDs and I was miserable. Depression and anxiety were really bad, and although I wasn't necessarily weak, I had to drag myself out of bed in the morning. And when I did, it hurt. Guest guest
Sonya, The good news is that when they get your levels right, you will probably lose any extra weight you gained while hypo. I think your chances are probably good if you're only hypo for a short period of time. I was hypo for a few of weeks from ATDs and gained 6 pounds. I lost all of it within 5 days of stopping the ATD and starting back at a lower dose. My body seemed to want to get back to the weight at which I had previously been holding steady. I'm sorry you have to go through this stage. I know how horrible it can be to be hypo. My mother says when you're hypo you can look at a glass of water and gain weight. Just try to be really careful what you eat during this time period, and make yourself exercise, even though I know you don't feel like it. The more you can " maintain " now, the better off you'll be when you thyroid levels get back to normal with the synthroid. Holly RE: Re: Doctor's Visit No Sonya, being hypo will add weight to you. Guest guest
Thanks everyone for reassuring me that 's overcorrected feet were okay... Today we went to Shriner's-Twin Cities for her check-up and her doctor said her feet look wonderful and will eventually move to a more neutral stance. We are so thankful for this site and for those Ponseti trained doctors. We couldn't imagine the alternative!!! Amy & (6-10-01)
