MIne bounced around between 96=120 for about a year when I first went on

T3 but it has come down wiht better mineral balance and thne gettign off

HC lowered it as well. WHile I do nto think thta is harmful especially

if just once in a while, you wil feel better and have better energy when

it is lower.

THank you, Val. So I shouldn't worry too much?I'm really not on that much at

all. From what I understand, 100mcg is a standard T3 dose, right?

Since I'm home all day today, I'm noticing another interesting change. I'm still

obsesses with temps, so I take it every hour and then at the end of the day I

take the 3 temp average.

So far today since 11 am it's been 98.2, 98.3 all day so far. Yesterday I was

home all day and it was 98.1-98.8, so still very erratic temps, and the last 5

day averages .4 difference. I have not increased or changed any doses for 2

weeks. I'm holding until next labs in a few days.

Just weird temps for me still.

For me, I think I'd rather be on T3 only and at the 100mcg dose, but I have to

go by my doctor for now and he said the RT3 was gone and put me on the Erfa,

raising weekly up to my 2 grain dose which I'm holding at for now. But I have a

feeling the RT3 may be higher now that I am back on a little T4 because I'm

noticing more mood swings and pain levels are higher since starting the T4.

Yes, absolutely. I'm really interested to find out if after 4-5 weeks on Erfa

brought it back up. I have a sneaking feeling it is by how I feel.

Hi Val,

Do you know how much your pulse went down when you weaned from HC? I just want to get into the 80's at this point.

(I am weaning and am down to 10mg/HC currently. I was originally on 50 mcg Cytomel and lowered to 25 with the addition of some compounded T4. I am feeling more balenced. My heart rate has been at around 120 for the past year at 50 mcg of Cytomel and 20-40 mg of HC. I have been muscle testing at the doctor for the high pulse and my body is wanting less T3, more T4, and no HC at this point. I did the 3-4 month protocal of 40 HC to build the adrenals allowing me to wean of and am in the process now.)

Most of my lowered pulse was from getting rid of RT3 and gettign

potassium right I might have dropped 5-8 points from stoppign HC. Yeah I

lose all faith in these doctors that say you MUST have or you NEED T4.

Sorry but I do nto buy this. I have been onm T3 onyl for over a year &

a half and I still do not feel the need for T4. WHY are we supposed to

need T4?

I wonder about the need for T4 too if the body is only converting it improperly.

But I will throw a monkey wrench anyway and suggest that because the body always

made it, then maybe the doctors feel that we just have to still keep it in

there??? They don't want to mess with what the body normally does??? Just my

theory.

Maybe T4 is just a freak of nature that is in there to cause us problems so we

die out??? LOL.

For years doctors said we didn't need our appendix, then they found that there

is some use for it, but I can't remember what? Mine is gone b/c it got inflamed.

Then they said we didn't need the ovaries when baby making was over, but now

many have found that the ovaries should stay put unless diseased. I believe all

my problems started when I lost an ovary, I link it all back to after that

surgery, prior to that I was fine, aging naturally, but not pains, no

depression, no chills, no apathy, etc.

Also, they take a lot of thyroid glands out, and if you are elderly, they won't

give you thyroid hormone, but the elderly suffer when the gland is out too. If

we need T4, then when they take out the gland for older patients, why don't they

give them T4??? I have a neighbor who had most of her gland removed (she's 70)

and they won't give her anything. Her hearing went, and she started having more

problems and is not doing well.

I don't understand it either, just thinking. And why did the companies come out

with Cytomel? I've seen many stories on another forum that rates drugs that

stated they went off Lyrica (fibro), and Ad's for depression and onto Cytomel

and felt 100% better.

This is what I'm hoping for. I want to be on T3 only for awhile and at higher

dose to see what it does for me.

Hi Val,

Just took resting pulse and it registered 127 with my homedics cuff. BP was 130/89 (which feels high for me). I think I am getting a cold or sinus infection. Can this raise both?

I am on salt (1tsp morning and night) and it is doing nothing to lower it. I have weaned down to 5 mg/HC and only 25 mcg of Cytomel. (My biggest symptom in the past was hair loss. I have not experienced any with cutting my T3 dose in half.) I mean....I am not dropping the pulse at ALL. Shouldn't lowering my meds do this?

Do you think I should just wean off all my meds? I have hashi's and am not sure what to do, but I have now suffered from this high pulse for close to 1.5 years and all doctors are freaking out. I have to get my pulse in the 90's for my doc and me to be ok. Temps avg 97.9 and I have maintained my weight, so not hyper.

How did you get mineral balence. Are there tests I need to do?

yoiu need to find the cause of it and I am afraid sometimes all

that will do that is labs. Electrolyte panel and FT3 for starters. low

or high cortios can cause elevated pulse. High form the cortils rushing

the T3 inot the cells, and low from adrenaline. Hypoglycemia causes high

pulse too.

Ok- I did labs last week but my doc is off due to the holiday. I will get them and post.

I took my BP & pulse this morning and it was 138/89 and 112. In the past my pulse was high, but not my BP. Now my BP is high?

Does the salt increat my BP?

When working with Dr.Lowe we ruled out hypoglycemia. How quickly can I test adrenals once weaned of the HC? This is my last week on 5 mcg.

(Also, I read last night that once off HC your pulse can go down 7-10 points.) I would be happy with it being at 100-102 to be honest.

It is unlikely the sea salt wil increase BP much if at all unless oy

uare taking WAY too much. But high cortils can and you may just need ot

get off the HC comepletel;y.
