Ok I survived my crip course in drains and dressing wounds barely. I

no kidding almost passed out. Mom had her first home care today. We

were all excited because the nurse said she would be coming once a wk

for 9wks. Well she no longer left and called back and said that moms

insurance only covered 3 visits so I guess I'm pretty much on my own.

I also saw moms surgery sites etc today. It wasn't as bad as I thought

on how she would look without her breast etc. Like I've said all along

what freaked me out was the drains and tubes etc. The nurse did the

drains today and handed me this jar full of the blood to empty and I

plain freaked out. I immediately felt light headed, dizzy, sweaty, got

pale etc. I'm trying to be a " big girl " about this but man! I guess

maybe the more I do it, it won't be so bad?? I handled the bandages

and dressing the wound part well. I also had a good cry today and made

myself take a time out for a couple of hrs. away from here. I was

feeling a bit overwhelmed again today. I guess because I have been non

stop since monday when mom had her surgery.
