We are in the process of putting in new smoke alarms as we are putting an

addition on our home. The smoke alarms for us now have to be hardwired. We are

having difficuly finding a

company alarm that we can hard wired into the rest of our homes system. We

plan only to have one alarm(that is strobe and sound) upstairs and another of

the strobe and sound downstairs. The rest of the alarms will be the usual kind.

Different companys will not guarrentee that you can interface the alarms

for the HOH into their system. This means you would have to use all alarms for

the HOH and these cost much more! Another issue we have encountered is that

the alarm only uses a strobe light and if you want it to sound alarm

you have to buy additional parts to do so. At least with the First Alert

sytem, which is what we had purchased before we knew it was going to be a

complicated matter for the electrition

Our house is not ready for the smoke alarm system yet so I dont know yet how

things will work out.
