Guest guest
HI........yes, I used clomid for several months to 'highten' my chances of getting pregnant. It worked.........I got pregnant with twins. Only one didn't develop earliy in pregnancy and I had the other premature at 20 weeks. This was due to other female problems and complications. I have never been able to carry to term. But, don't give up hope. Usually things do seem to straighten out after such weightloss. Talk with you dr about other tests he/she may need to run to see if htere are any other specific problems with your reproductive system...or your husbands. And have faith..........it can happen. I ws pregnant on clomid right at one year post op. Good luck, Sharon in GA

Guest guest
Jenn, I am so sorry about your infertility problems. I don't know a lot about PCOS or infertility for that matter, so I cant really help you there, but I wanted to welcome you, and let you know that I will keep you in my thoughts, and hope that you get the answers you need. There are SO many women here who have similar stories, and who have a WEALTH of knowledge, and I just know they will answer you and give you some advice. Hang in there, I know it has got to be hard. Good luck to you and take care! Marcy New - Jenn P. Hello all, I've been lingering and reading emails for months now. I am now almost 14 months postop, down 130 pounds (5'11 " started at 320, now 190), and 20 pounds from my goal weight. I have PCOS, which I am sure a lot of you have or have had. My husband and I used fertility treatments preop (helped me gain the last 50 pounds!), specifically Clomid. I never had a period preop without the use of hormones. I had the first few from age 12 to 14, and then was induced hormonally every time after that, either with BCPs or Provera. I am now 28, and am more than ready. Problem is, I have only had three periods since my surgery last October: May 1, July 15 and September 22. I am not currently pregnant, as I just took a test last week. My fear is that I am not giong to be a WLS/pregnancy success story where things just miraculously start working and I actually ovulate, which was my dream! Is it too late? I am close to goal weight at this ponit, and I'm not sure that losing the last 20 pounds will cause much of a change! My questions for all of you: Has anyone had to use fertility treatments postop? How successful were they, and how soon did you get pregnant? Did anyone purchase a long-term fertility monitor? My periods are so far apart, I have ended up buying four 5-day kits, and even then have never gotten a very strong line for an LH surge. I am losing hope, sure that God has not meant for me to be a mother. I have resigned myself to the fact that it just won't happen. I know there are people out there who have tried for over a decade, and I don't know how they've done it. We're going on five years of hoping, dreaming and planning, and I am ready to give up on it. Please offer me some hope and suggestions if you can! I would truly appreciate it. Jenn P.

Guest guest
Jenn- I have had WLS, and I have PCOS... It has been very hard for me to find information on Pregnancy, PCOS & WLS! However, since your issue now largely to blame on the PCOS (and not weight related), I think you should check out www.soulcysters.net - and look into the " trying to concieve " forum. There are skinny cysters out there who still need to look into the use of fertility drugs. I myself have developed Gestational Diabetes, due to my PCOS.. whereas the ladies here (majority of them) have eliminated such problems with the WLS.... I am at a loss on where to turn for advice regarding the Glucose Tolerance Test! As you can see it is a frustrating road for us to travel! But I wish you luck, and the good news is at least you DID ovulate three times last year- it could mean that your body may just take a little more time to regulate itself! Rapid weight loss can do that.... Best wishes on your journey! > Hello all, > > I've been lingering and reading emails for months now.
