Guest guest
I just saw my endo on friday and he gave me the option of doing the ablative dose of iodine inpatient or outpatient. I decided with my boyfriend (whom I live with) to do it outpatient. I really don't want to be in the hospital for 3 days. I am a pretty meticulous person when I have to be and figure we can manage the precautions. I am currently separating my food so he will not touch anything I touch and I get the bathroom while he will use the kitchen sink and our neighbor's bathroom. We live in a small apartment with one bathroom. He and the dog will be more or less banished from my presence for 3 days. He listened in on the risks and the precautions from the endo and we decided together to do it this way. I have paper plates and utensils, and latex gloves in case I need to touch something that will later touch him. He does the cooking anyway so I will not have to worry about touching food he will be eating. I have plenty of hard candies to suck on. My biggest concern is being in the car with him for a half hour back from the hospital after I take the pill but the endo seemed to think that it will be okay. I'll be taking 100mcg. Does anyone have any experience with doing this at home and any advice? I am taking the pill tomorrow morning at 9:30 so we have time to put together any last minute things I might need before I am glowing . Thanks so much, Lilly
