Guest guest
Hi and Everyone, As a matter of fact, I just got home from the hospital tonight. was born yesterday, December 10th, at 1:53pm. I went into labor on the 9th at 1:00pm and had steady contractions all day and night, but the hospital sent me home with a shot of demoral because I wasnt dialating but was in MAJOR pain! Came home, slept 2 hours (they gave me a sleeping pill) and then was up again until yesterday morning, when I said enough is enough and I went back to the hospital. At that point I was still only dialated a " pinch " they said, but I was still in such pain. The nurse there who also happens to be a midwife checked me, and decided to try and do something about my lack of dialation. She examed me and did some fancy fingerwork and I was instantly at a 5. From there my doc (who just happened to be on the floor) broke my water, and I barely made it in time to get the epidural and was at a 7 by the time the anesthesiaologist (who just happened to be a friend of my husband and myself lol) got there. So far we were running into total luck with the nurse, my OB there at the exact moment I needed him, and our anesthesiaologist. By the time he was done administering the epi, I was complete, and my daughter and mother (2nd coach) barely made it in time for me to start pushing. Actual pushing only took an hour and a half, but should have taken just 2-3 pushes, except his head was cockeyed, and they had to try all kinds of different positions to get his head coming down the right way. Once his head turned, I had him out pretty fast. With the exception of being in labor for 2 days and being in so much pain the whole time and nothing happening, the actual delivery was pretty good. I got to the hospital yesterday morning at 10:00am and had him at 1:53pm, so I would say that is good lol......although, the 2 days of constant pain was hell. Anyway, he is happy, healthy, and GORGEOUS, and got my husbands dimples!!! He was 8lbs 5 ozs, and 20 " long. Thanks for all of the support, I really needed it these past couple of weeks, and will most DEFINATELY need it now because I am sooooo tired from not sleeping in 3 days, and trying hard at this breastfeeding thing, but I have to admit I am discouraged. Thanks for asking about me! I hadnt posted because I wasnt home lol......Take care all. Marcy Wallis Mommy to 12/10/02 Mommy to Kaitlyn 05/01/94 Marcy....how are you? Guest guest
I was so happy to hear that he is here an he is HEALTHY. I had the same problems with my son at birth (in labor but they sent me home with a sleeping pill. Said if I wasn't asleep in an hour to take a second one.) My son was " sunny-side-up " so I pushed for 2.5 hours with him before he finally took his first breath. I can empathize with your situation COMPLETELY. It took 6 weeks for me and baby #3 to get the breastfeeding down. Now as I recall the situation I think 6 weeks wasn't so bad. However when I was in the midst of it I thought it was an eternity. I don't know what your situation is, but if you want to talk about it off list feel free to email me: oregonlaura@... I'm in awe at your nurse/midwife's fancy finger work. It takes me about 6-8 hours to get from 0-5cm dialation then from 5-10 in about 45 minutes. I'm soooooooo thrilled for you. Can't wait to see pictures now

Guest guest
Marcy- Glad to hear the is here safe and sound. How did your daughter do during the delivery? Did she get to see the whole thing? Looking forward to having my little boy in about 6 weeks. I am off to my baby shower this afternoon. My husband is working on the baby's room and getting it painted. It has been nice having him home to be able to do these things for me. Take care Barbra EDD 1/27/03 Baby #2.
