Hi ,

Welcome back to WLB! As I am sure you remember, this is a wonderful

source of information and support! I was not here when you were

here before. I am Sharon, a 31 year old mom to a 6 and a 7 year

old, and I have been here about 6 weeks. When I started this

journey, I was at 243, and I am now at 228.6, on my way to a short

term goal of 220, and long term somewhere between 140-160, anywhere

in there my body decides to settle is good by me. I am succeeding

by drinking a gallon or more water a day, exercising most, if not

all, days of the week, and eating more sensibly. I cut my soda

intake back to one diet one a day, more to stave off the caffiene

headache than anything else, I cut out fried foods just about

completely, and drastically upped my intake of whole grains and

fruits and veggies. As you can see, all of these little, fairly

painless changes have added up to a 14.4 pound loss since May 1. In

addition to the changes in my weight, I can happily say I have

increased my cardiovascular strength, as well as my lean muscle mass

and my flexibility. Being accountable here helped me the first few

weeks, I would check in with what I ate and how I was feeling at the

end of every day, it really made me think before I would make an

unhealthy choice. I have found lately though that eating well and

exercising are habit now, and I don't need to tell anyone that I did

it, I can tell when I don't and that is " policing " enough for me

now. Good luck on getting back on track, please let us know how we

can help you!

>>>My name is . I am 5'11 " and currently weigh 217. YIKES! When I left

here I was down from 242 to 208.

242/217/175?

Hi, . I'm Marge. I just started the group about a week ago. I'm 39, live w/

my bf Rob and cat Chloe in Brooklyn (Arlene, where are you, fellow Brooklynite?

lol).

34 pounds is fantastic. the 9lbs is definitely not all fat; I agree sounds like

muscle and water. which is besides the important point, losing all those inches,

wow, congrats.

Dear ,

Hey, I'm new to the list, but I just had to reply to your post. I'm

>>>I'd always be thinking - so what! 10 little stinking

pounds! I always though - they have no idea what it felt like to

have to loose 100 pounds! Man, Now I have that last 20 to go. LOL

Ang

wow, no wonder you have up and down feelings about your body. your brain

probably hasn't caught up with the reality yet. I felt a little weird, too, I

mean I know there are heavier people here working on their weight. But I

thought, man, I have 130 pounds to lose, maybe more. Which is a big number.

....I know what you mean. At first, when I first " found out " I was so

overwieght (doesn't that sound silly, to " find out " - lol)...I didn't

know what to do. I mean was it pointless to even try? Should I just

run off to another state where no one knew me and stay inside and eat

till I died? I was freaked out. I still can't believe that I

actualy made it this far. I was the LAST person in the world that

anyone would think could actualy loose weight.

I know totally what you mean re: finding out. ha. My weight has been up and down

over the past decade by 100lbs, and I was telling myself that I was active, I

was ok. Then I'd see pictures of myself next to people, and I had to face how

large I was. Let's face it, there are only so many pictures you can avoid being

in, lol. Enough is enough, I'm getting my weight down. :-) Thanks, Ang.
