Guest guest
Hi Jan, I totally share your sentiments about chiros............ a great one here kept me alive for over 3 years while I battled with the dying days of the fall out from my fused hip........In fact I think it was his constantly muttered despair at watching me struggling that finally drove me to do some lateral thinking and find Resurfacing......... I have also experienced them doing great work on others with back problems etc. However with my knee it is simply a matter of it suffering from years of miswear with awkward walking plus muscles atrophying all around it though lack of normal use. Funny enough my wonderful chiro has been terrified to touch my body since my Resurface - I have the feeling he cannot cope with it being different from a Total hip and near impossible to dislocate.......being the first he has ever seen of the BHRs......... So I decided to put him out of his anxiety about that and have refrained from going back after watching him suffer a couple of times.........smile Now I just concentrate on getting as fit as will permit and hope this will assist the back to adjust......... for many muscles up the left side of my back were also atrophied and that didn't help matters any........... Glad though that you are trying this new program - I would be interested to hear how it goes over time as several areas of my spine have been very damaged from years of miswear and when I am a bit fitter and thus walking better, I have to start thinking about what to do with these. Guest guest
My knees have been the bane of my existance for decades now - due to bursitis. But when my hip came to hurt worse than the knees, I of course reduced my activity level, and took Vioxx. The knees were very happy campers Now that I'm off the painkillers, and enjoying life; the knees are protesting once again...sigh. The good aspect is that they make sure that I partake in low-impact activities - so my prosthesis hopefully will last a good long time! I just keep reminding myself that even though the hip feels frisky - the rest of the body has aged.......
