Terri, Our 10-year-old has basically the same plans. Except now she thinks being a vet would be great, instead of raising the horses. She plans to work only with horses and cats. She loves dogs but doesn't want to be a vet to dogs. (shrug) By next month she'll probably have another life plan. Jill

Would any particular states be more " friendly " than others? I appreciate the information! > Hi Alisa, Having been in three states now, CA, TX, and MA I have to say there is a wide variety of support in each and each has had it pros and cons. I think you would be best served by letting the list know what methodology you are looking for, also type of school (residential, day, mainstream with support, etc.). That would help us all provide better information. MA has lots of special schools, as do many other states, but where in MA would depend on your methodology choice. We ended up next to a great bi-bi school (ASL and written English), but my daughter doesn't sign much, so we are mainstreamed locally without a lot of support. Also, different schools serve different ages. More serve the younger ages. So knowing the ages involved would help. You've got a great resource here on Listen-up. I'm sure people can provide great information. Terri , Mother of Kathy, almost 10 (wow!), CII BTE Jan '02, future artist and horse farm owner (when she wins the lottery!)
