Guest guest
Hi. My daughter (severe hearing loss) is 4 1/2 and is attending a preschool for children with speech delays. There is one other HI child in the class. There is a TOD in the class, but she is the teacher for the entire class (not there to specifically work with ) There is also an SLP, special ed teacher and early education teacher. There are ~20 children in the class. The staff seems sensitive to 's needs, but I think there are skills that need to be worked on in a group setting that need individual attention (social skills and coping skills when she can't hear-she does have an FM which helps alot). I'm beginning to think that needs some one on one with a TOD, which the current TOD can not provide with so many other students to take care of. I was wondering how TOD of the deaf services were handled for other families with HI preschoolers. Should I request and additional TOD to help her? Thank you!
