Guest guest
" Are you really suppose to heat the goat milk to 180? That seems really high. I did it to 160 and then let it cool down to add the starter. The website says to have the goat yogurt ferment for at least 24 hours. How long can you have it heated for, 30 or more? Is it better the longer it ferments? " Yes, you are really supposed to heat the milk to 180, just as the website says to. The yogurt should be fermented for 24 hours. After 30 hours, the bacteria begin to die off and the yogurt is actually less potent than it was at 24 hours. So, don't ferment it for longer than 30 hours.
