Hi Judith

Many thanks for your comments below - Would you believe that

chocolate was the 1st thing that I packed ? ;-) I've been on the

LID now for just over 2 weeks and that is the one thing that I have

missed the most. Proper cadbury's chocolate !!

I rang the hospital and I'm allowed to bring in videos as I have a

tv/video and radio/CD player in my room ! What joy ! I can't see

it having satellite TV but one mustn't get too greedy !! This is the

NHS after all ....

I'm also allowed to wear my own clothes and nightwear just so long

as I wash them separately at home. Which isn't going to be a

problem as I'll be there on my lonesome with my little girl staying

at my mum's for the duration which in all will be 3 weeks as my

consultant originally said - 4 days in hospital and 2 weeks at arms

length with children and adults. I'll have plenty of things to keep

me occupied at home most notably cleaning behind myself every hour !

I know it depends on what dosage I receive but does 2 weeks seems

excessive? Where I work we have a Nuclear Safety Dept for the UK's

nuclear reactor sites - a friend of mine is going to see if she can

borrow one of those radiation readers that can tell me if my levels

have dropped. Which will come in useful.

I'm expecting to swell up quite considerably ! I think its in my

genes. I only had the tracer dose last Thurs and when I awoke on

Fri morning my face had puffed up a bit. When I was pregnant with

my daughter I went up about 3 shoe sizes ! Although i'm not

expecting that to happen - I just pictured myself and remembered

myself waddling !

Anyways, I shall keep you posted - hope to post at the weekend.

Warmest regards to you and everyone on the site and good luck to all

who have upcoming RAI.
