Guest guest
Here is a CD called Time to sing: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000DEOJ2/qid=1097697429/sr=2-1/ref=pd_k\ a_b_2_1/103-9407434-0216629 This CD is marketed for kids with speech disorders rather than hearing loss, but I would think it may be helpful for some kids with hearing loss too. What they did was take a lot of kids songs and slow them down so it's easier to hear the words. Many parents on another listserv for speech disorders love this CD. Personally, I find some of the songs hard to listen to because they sound too choppy. Some songs I think are well done though. They also have Time to Sing II, which I've heard isn't as good, and Time to Sing Christmas. My 2 year old daughter and I both have a severe/profound unilateral loss in the left ear. I bought her the CD because I always have problems understanding lyrics to songs and many times in elementary school music class, I wasn't too sure of the words. I've put it away for now, but maybe I'll get it out again when she's a little older and able to sing tunes. She really enjoys music now, but doesn't try to sing yet.
