I think that's most of us here - tried it all, every diet known to

man and maybe even made up a few of our own...then figured what the

heck, let's just try to get healthy and see what happens. LOL!

The fast food binging once or twice a week - oh ya - everyone has

those 'special needs'. LOL.

The way I figure it is this...

You use to do it every day right? Sometimes even several times in

one day? Well, I'm thinking 2 times a week is alot better than 7 or

10 times a week!

Later, you can bring it down to once a week - then later every other.

I see it this way. If I want to BE a thin person I need to behave

like one. And I don't know one thin person that doesn't have a

burger some times!

I just " make the best choice " every time I do it. If it's mcdonalds -

the regular hamburger is the best choice (caloris ect)...blew me

away to find out I had wanted those burgers and eaten chicken all

that time and found out the burger was lower calorie! No fries, or

only a few - FEW.

Then be proud that you didn't order the fries instead of bummed out

you got the burger :-)

Hi scatobe,

Welcome to WLB, the most supportive weight loss group on the web!

I'm Sharon, a 31 year old SAHM of a 6 and a 7 year old. I have been

on my journey to health since May 1st, when I started at 243. I am

now at 228.6, and my short term goal is 220, long term, I want to

get to somewhere between 140-160. You will find all sorts of

motivation and support here, and make a few new friends along the

way, I am sure! Most of us are here and in this for the long haul,

trying to change our lifestyle one day at a time with sensible

eating, exercise, and lots of water. Please let us know how we can

help you, and no, you are not alone with the take out food fight. I

battle that demon as well, but I am learning to try and make the

healthier choices in a given sitouation. Congratulations on the 7

pounds, and best of luck in your ongoing journey to health!

fit in foods that you like in a healthy way. moo shu is much healthier and lower

cal than general tso's chicken, for instance. And one meal out of the day of

healthy eating shouldn't hurt you too much.

2. you're using the food to help you with emotional issues. maybe you need to

keep a journal of how you feel. are you overstressed? what are better ways to

deal with that? are you sad? lonely? bored?

You have definitely come to the right place for support, this group is

great! We are very active, and everyone is so supportive through the good

times and the bad. It really sounds like you are off to a great start with

your diet and exercise plan... 7 pounds lost so far, congratulations! Many

of us here are also trying to simply adjust our way of living by eating

healthier and exercising more.

I am very familiar with the binge eating. My best advice would be to make

sure you eat small snacks and meals throughout the day, so you are never so

hungry when you sit down to eat that you feel the need to stuff yourself.

Also, don't completely deny yourself your favorite foods! Find a way to fit

small amounts of them into your diet, so that you don't feel deprived and

end up caving in.
