Guest guest
It really burns me up that there are doctors claiming to use the Ponseti method and not following the protocol properly!! They should say they use a variation of the Ponseti method. AFter all, he's the one with decades of research and success stories backing up the necessity for wearing the DBB for nearly 3 years. It's hard putting your trust in a doctor who is just learning the method. They have to start somewhere, but when it's your child, it's hard to be willing to let them learn at the expense of your child's progress. We were fortunate to be able to seek a second opinion from a Ponseti approved doctor. It seems like most parents are doing that. I would strongly recommend a second opinion, even if you have to travel far, if you are seeing a doctor who is new to the Ponseti method. Or consulting with one via phone/e-mail. If nothing else, it puts your mind at ease that everything is as it should be. We are all so fortunate that Dr. Ponseti is so willing to do this!
