Guest guest
4 Weeks post op is nothing. your fitness post operation depends on what it was pre operation. Everyone has their own recovery rate. Have a bit more confidence and mark your improvements over the next 4 weeks. Don't worry about the infection. Surface ones are a lot more common than the deep ones. loss of confidence I would like some reassurance from all you surface hippies out there please. I am 4 weeks post-op with a BHR performed in Newcastle England. I had a small wound infection 2wks post op which has cleared up, subsequent check up found no sign of further deeper infection. I also have anaemia following surgery which is being treated with drugs. The thing is that although my strength is returning slowly and I can walk around the house confidently, when I walk outside I feel very unsure and unsteady even with the two crutches. Shouldn't I be progressing quicker than this. At the moment I cannot envisage walking unaided at all for a very long time. Also I can only manage to walk short distances which is a worry. At times I feel very frustrated even to the point of regretting the surgery. I know I must be patient but with a family it is hard. (my husband has been a diamond by the way, I don't know what I would have done without him)
