Guest guest
Randy You have a unique opportunity and a foot up on the rest of the students by working for a medical center. I too work for a medical center in West Texas in the IT dept and a retired Bio-Med. As a EMT student I was able to spend time in various departments learning, questioning and observing from others that helped broaden my understanding of the healthcare field. As a part-time Paramedic now, I still enhance my training by spending time in the departments, sometimes getting to practice skills on the patients from now and then. Guest guest
Just ask Kim which Lubbock paramedics to do your clinical hours with.... -Wes Austin, TX (TTU Law class of '01) Re: Hello, new EMT student here Welcome Randy! I can tell you that your education out of South Plains will require a lot of hard work on your end, but is well worth it! Drop me a line if you want specifics or recommendations. And on this list, I suggest that you keep an eye out for " Wes " from Austin. He has ties here too; we'll see if he admits to it. :-) Kim Idalou, TX Hello, new EMT student here > Hello all, > > I am new to the group and also a EMT-B student. I start my EMT-B class > in May. Guest guest
My son is the nurse manager for the MICU, CICU units at University, he first got interested in nursing through his EMT basic course.... and of course from his mother. Guest guest
One of the best things about Lubbock is that you are able to get " big city " healthcare in a smaller community. Well, that and Taco Villa. -Wes (TTU Law '01) Austin, Texas (which is deprived of both Taco Villa and 's) Re: Hello, new EMT student here Welcome Randy!
