Hi - I wanted to pass information along. This program is for families who live

near the seacoast area in New Hampshire but looks like a great program if your

child needs hearing aids.

Barbara

--- Forwarded message from " s, " ---

Dear Ruth and Barbara,

I am enclosing the standard letter that we sent to Audiologists in our

catchment area when we first rolled this program out last Fall. It outlines

this hearing aid program we are offering. It is an exciting new venture for us

and one which we hope will help many families.

Unfortunately, we need to restrict this service to families who live in our

catchment area- Brentwood, Epping, Exeter, Hampton Falls, Nottingham, Kingston,

Fremont, Newfields, Lee, East Kingston, Hampton, North Hampton, Stratham,

Newmarket, , Danville, Newton, Atkinson, Plaistow, Greenland, Hampstead,

Sandown, Seabrook, Kensington, South Hampton, Durham, Barrington, Candia,

Deerfield, Northwood or Madbury.

We ask that families contact us directly to complete a scholarship application

to determine eligibility for assistance toward the purchase of a permanent

device. However, we do offer loaner hearing aids as well. In either case, the

child needs to be followed by an Audiologist as we are not Audiologists are

only facilitating the purchase of a device. The prescription, fitting and

follow-up are done by the Audilogist.

If you would like additional information about our Program, please provide me

with your mailing address and I will send this along.

Pleae call me if you have any questions. I can be reached at 580-6613 or at

jpeters@.... I really appreciate your interest in our Program.

Sincerely,

Jen s

To Whom it May Concern:

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the Pediatric

Rehabilitation Department of Exeter Hospital and our new Hearing Aid Program.

Through the generous contributions of Exeter Hospital and the Exeter Hospital

Associates, the Pediatric Rehabilitation Department has expanded its services.

For those children needing a hearing aid, we will offer a loaner hearing aid

until the permanent device is received. We will also provide financial

assistance to qualifying families for the purchase of a hearing aid, as many

insurance companies do not cover this service. As the Audiologist, you will

prescribe the hearing aid and you will fit the individual with the hearing aid.

Our role will be to assist families in the purchase of the device. Finally, we

will be available to offer a speech and language consult to interested

families.

Should you have a family who requires a loaner hearing aid or who requires

financial assistance to obtain a permanent hearing aid, please offer them one

of the packets we have provided. Have them complete the enclosed forms and

contact our Department to schedule an appointment.

We look forward to collaborating with you to offer a FREE loaner hearing aid or

financial assistance, a valuable service, to the community. If you need

additional packets, please call 580-6613.

Sincerely,

s, MS CCC-SLP

Upstate NY due to spouse's job. I left kicking and screaming, because I

really wanted to stay in NH where my family lives. Turned out for the best,

though, because I found a great job for myself here as a ative

Extension Educator for Family and Consumer Science and 4-H Youth

Development. And Matt has made a ton of friends here, in fact he is actually

one of the " populars " for the first time ever! I guess at 14 he has finally

figured out the social scene. We still haven't found a house though. Crammed

into a 1000 square foot rental with 2 teenagers a cat and a

Newfoundland---makes life interesting!

LuAnn

ps. In case you are wondering, special ed is just as much of pain over here

as in NH. Still trying to work out Matt's program after 5 weeks of school...
