Guest guest
i had previously posted about my friend's teenage daughter who has been diagnosed hyper, but was wondering about something. as it turns out her thyroid scan showed no abnormalities, so there is no nodule after all. doc says her t4 is fine but her t3 was 8.4 (she told me 84, i am assuming it is 8.4). there was no mention of tsh so maybe thats okay too. also no antibodies. i guess her heart is racing so badly that doc sent her home with a monitoring device that sends a report to the doc every time she has an 'episode'. she will wear this for 2 months. anyway, am i right to tell her to avoid iodine for now where she is so hyper? also, as i mentioned before her menses are so out of control that she is taking bcp every day with no break to menstruate. is it possible that the hormones she is taking could contribute to all of this? i suspect that she has had something thyroid related for at least a few years, back when her chronic pain issues began. any ideas? thanx a bunch! angie
