Guest guest
Kim, congratulations!!! I am sure the resignation was very hard but clearly you have made the right decision for yourself!! And...given the plans you have, for us, too!!! Ok, so KNACK--I am with you on the misspelling (although sometimes just can't be helped, I guess). The word that came to me was Kickstart--because isn't that the point--to kickstart skillls or am I way off base? anyway, my 2 cents and my million dollars worth of pride in you, your goals and accomplishments. pam > ---------- > From: CHARGE on behalf of Kim Lauger > Reply To: CHARGE > Sent: Wednesday, May 3, 2006 10:23 AM > To: CHARGE > Subject: offtopic - update from Kim L - major changes > > Hello Everyone, > > I have been missing you all. I have been coming on every couple weeks and reading the headings to try to stay caught up somewhat, but have not even been able to read all the posts let alone reply. My heart goes out to everyone in the good and the bad of CHARGE. After 10 3/4 years, I turned in my letter of resignation at my job. It was a very hard decision to make, because of the personal relationship between my boss and my family and all of life we have shared since before Dylan was born; he is Dylan's Godfather, and our friend. Once the decision was made though it is clear that it was the right one. My time right now is so full trying to do all that needs done to make the transition work, I am working through the end of May, and trying to get the new person trained and all of my stuff done. Then I am taking the summer off to play, to learn, to read, to write and so on. My long term plans are to get certified in HANDLE and to get my Master's in Neuropsychology with an emphasis on research. My short term plans are to become a PACE tutor (Processing and Cognitive Enhancement). PACE is the more intensive tutoring version of the BrainSkills I did with Tyler. I also will get trained for Master the Code which is a program for teaching reading for kids like Tyler. I am really looking forward to it. Of course the business has to have room for the deafblind consulting and speaking as far as understanding how the brain stuff influences how our kids function too. These are the 3 lines that will appear on my business cards and letterhead. Develop a KNACK for Learningâ„¢ Kim's Neurodevelopmental Assessment and Coaching Klinic Solutions for Attention, Behavior, and Learning Difficulties If anyone can think of a K word to replace Klinic, I don't like the intentional misspelling, but I also don't like KNACC In June I hope to finally have time to get my Box of Deafblindnessâ„¢ materials actually written up with the graphic design and so on, so they can be more accessible to people. Then crazy as it sounds I have had a book being written in the back of my head for couple of years, once I wrote my letter of resignation, the book showed up clear as could be in my head the next morning. I wish I could write it right now, but I have July blocked off to allow me time to just write.
