Guest guest
Ok..... maybe. I'm just gonna tell my experience and I'm not a doctor....... (too) Besides the hypo symptoms, two doctors (the nuc and the endo) told me that after my LID when i took the 200 mCi dose my body got shocked by the radiation AND the iodine, my body was used to the lack of iodine and that iodine with my empty digestive system (combined with all the other stuff) caused some kind of reaction in my body. I've been told to take some corticoids to avoid any allergic reaction too....... i dunno, i'm just repeating what doctors told me didn't mean to missinform. The amount of iodine in an RAI dose is minimal (according to Dr. Ain, " the iodine content of a typical glass of milk is greater than the iodine contained in a usual radioactive iodine therapy dose. Symptoms apparently caused by the RAI is often, in fact, caused by being hypo. - (not a doctor) NYC This e-mail support group is one of many free services of ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association, Inc. <web site: www.thyca.org>.
