Hopefully it will be a productive year for all of us and our health will improve.I just saw my endo last week. I have been seeing him for two years. When I met him the first time, I told him I wanted Armour as synthroid was not the drug for me. (Been on synth for 3-4 years prior). He did not have a problem with that....put me on low dose of Armour and increased it slowly. I was on 2 grains for almost a year. In Oct I saw him and my TSH was slowly moving back up and Free T's slowly moving downward. He asked to leave it for three months just to see how I was feeling. At that point I was not feeling bad....So, I went in last week. TSH had gone up a bit more and I told him that I wanted an increase. he said fine...lets do 1/4 grain and labs in 6-8 wks and then possibly another increase then.Get this......he says...."I have a lot of people that basically self medicate and I am mostly okay with that if they do it sensibly." He also did an ultrasound on my thyroid as there had not been one done in two years. He said it was okay....no nodules etc..So I am on 2.25 grains and will probably go up to 2.5 grains in a few weeks. He is so open to listening to me. I feel blessed to have him for a doc. My current labs are....TSH 1.663 range .35-5.5Free T4 - .96 range .61-1.76Free T3 - 2.6 range 2.3-4.2until this past Oct....my TSH was basically supressed and around .3 which he was okay with apparently. I'll be anxious to see what the increase does. Any comments are welcome.Kat
