Guest guest
Dear B.G, I took the VCS test which came back negative. However Dr. Shoemaker felt that based on my symptoms and history that I probably do have chronic Lyme. I also know of others who do have Lyme and yet the test was negative. I wanted the Questran protocol so chronicneurotoxins billed me nearly $100 Australian to do the VCS and get the protocol. I am on a pension so I thought this was a lot. I have since found the protocol on a google search. Also on Google if you look up Questran, there is quite a bit of controversy with varying results. However, Questran has been on the market for 30 years(I think) and is very safe. It can cause constipation and if you are on it for a long time it can deplete you of fat soluble vitamins. There is also some controversy about how long it needs to be taken for. People do get very bad Herxing at the beginning. I wrote to one lady who was on it for 3 1/2 months and said she got her life back after 10 years of Lyme. However, she could not tolerate the Questran any longer an crashed 7 weeks after going off it. She tried again but had bad acid reflux and insomnia. So, now she is back on long term anti-biotics. Having said all of this, my husband and I are going to try it. We are off the A.P. for 6 weeks and will have a blood test for Lyme. Regardless of the results, We are going to get anti-biotic and Questran treatment. We are trying to get some " proof " for ex-husband, children and 22 years of doctors who have misdiagnosed me. Will keep you all posted. Wishing you health, Rosemary Trudeau. allrosy@...
