Guest guest
That's great that she knew when the sound went off. At least you know that she is getting bennefit from it, and that she probably likes it otherwise she wouldn't be all confused and trying to fix it when it doesn't work. We are making progress Hi, I just had to share this story from today. Annika was having a session with Kim, DHH services (and C. was here observing since it was Kim's last session this summer). All of a sudden Annika started to pull her left headpiece on and off of her head. She would scratch her head under where it was placed and then replace the headpiece. We just kept asking her what was wrong? Did her head itch? I had never seen her do this before. I thought is something not working or does it hurt now. Well, I went to check the left processor and sure enough it wasn't working, the lights were off. I readjusted the battery and it was fine. Well, sometimes we have a problem with one of the batteries disconnecting once and awhile so I thought that was it. As the session went on she did this over at least two more times. Each time the battery was not engaged and she knew she wasn't getting any sound. I ended up changing the battery and everything is now fine. I am not so concerned about the battery but to say that Mom almost cried at this. She knew that she wasn't getting any sound and beyond that she knew which side it was on Like I said I have never seen her do this before though she has been getting much better in replacing the headpieces when they come off during the day. I just had never seen her show me that she wasn't hearing anything. We are making progress!!!!!! Yeah!!!!! Guest guest
, That's great news! used to walk around with one hearing aid dead and never say anything. Now that her hearing is worse and she's older she lets me know as soon as the battery dies, but I remember the first time she told me - I was really happy. This is great news!
