Guest guest
Hi, - > ... I was at Trader Joes today looking around > and was disappointed not to find ANYTHING > that would seem to work. I'm surprised - I found several products at Trader Joe's that were fine for the LID. > I had hoped rice milk would, but it listed sea salt. There's a rice milk called Yu Beverage which is made without salt; it comes plain and in several LID acceptable flavors. See http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Thyca/message/22503 > I'm sure it must taste awful, but as a moistener for > oatmeal or cereal, perhaps I could deal with it. Some people use apple juice to moisten their cereal. > Do you all just drink your coffee black? I either gave up coffee, or else drank espresso. > How much do I care if the ingredients list > sodium? Is there a % of sodium I should avoid? You only care about the sodium if it comes from added salt. See http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Thyca/message/28112 for some tips that I use when looking at sodium content. > I spent $30 on a bag > of stuff there and none of it seems very appetizing. Obviously I > know I can have fruits and veggies which I will take care of later, > but I wanted to go ahead and get other snack type stuff. There are so many snacks that are fine on the diet. Check the recipe index (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Thyca/message/27174 ) which also includes links for commercial products. I'll send you separately a longer list which may be helpful. > I assume salt-free nuts are okay. > I will be very careful with this diet - I want my RAI to blast this thyca out of me!! You're smart to be so careful; you'll know you did everything possible to maximize your treatment. Salt free nuts are just fine (assuming they haven't been roasted with soy oil). If you haven't already looked at it, the archive index for LID info & suggestions has links to lots of members' tips and menu ideas .... http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Thyca/message/27173 - NYC
