Guest guest
Candace, Please don't order anything from this company. We've never heard of it and have no current knowledge of their products. We are looking into it, but I cannot recommend it at this point. Guest guest
Hi Candace, I have heard of this company. They make the best commercial bean flour BUT.... NO COMMERCIAL BEAN FLOUR IS ALLOWED ON SCD. This product has been used by members of certain neighborhoods where SCD is very widely used. Its use became very controversial and caused a lot of dispute. I once gave free counseling to Mrs J whose son became very sick after eating crackers made with this bean flour. I do not know if Mrs J's son became sick because he could not tolerate beans or because this flour was not made properly. Mimi > > Has anyone heard of this company: http://beanflour.com/ > They claim to soak beans for 24 hours, pre-cook and then make > a flour for baking for the use of people on scd. Guest guest
Hi Candace, Yes, I've heard of this company. Elaine has recipes in BTVC for properly prepared beans. She recommends soaking 8-12 hours , draining, rinsing and then cooking. But cooked beans aren't for beginners. They are much more complex and are for those who have substantial healing. For those who are ready for *small amounts* of bean flour I think that Elaine prefers that they be homemade beacuse then you " know " it is done right. Even then she only wants us to use small amounts because the complex carb molecules in the beans are not being rehydrated properly and it might be too much of an overload for the system.
