I second the vote for Rayovac; I've tested all the brands for sizes 13 and

675. I routinely change the batteries every Sunday morning, but Rayovac's

by far last the longest of all I have tried. (Duracell was the worst, which

the audi believes as well). IThe audi also recommends Rayovac.

I must the lone disenter. We tried Rayovac several years ago, and they

lasted 1/3 as long as the Duracells we were using. We are now trying

them again, and they seem to be working much closer to what I'd expect.

We bought ours from Costco for $6.49 for 20 batteries, exp. Oct 2007.

Certainly seemed worthwhile to try them.

We also change batteries once a week, on Sunday nights. Monday mornings are

far too chaotic! We always use Rayovac. They rarely go dead before the week is

up. Usually when they die it is because Ian forget to change them when he was

suppose to. Every once in a while we get a bad one, one that is dead as you

are putting it in ... but that is true for any brand.

Speaking of batteries, how do you store them, some parents have suggested

keeping them in the fridge?

A little blue lidded metal box, bought at Walmart for about a dollar. I've

never kept battereis in the fridge. I keep them in a drawer in the kitchen. The

little metal box sits on a bookcase, that way we can always find it and it can

be tucked into a suitcase or a backpack when travelling. It is are the

battereies as well as the little screwdrivers and cleaning tools that Ian needs

to

take care of his aides.

Seems to me that I read that keeping zinc air batteries in the fridge is a big

no no. They aren't like regular batteries.
