questions about post-surgical weakness

Hi all,

I recently found this group and have to say that I was very happy to

find it indeed. I am sure that you all know what I mean.

I am 24, was diagnosed in Oct with Hurthle cell, had a total late Oct

in which my oncologist also removed two metastisic tumors and 20

lymph nodes (right-side modified dissection). Because of the

placement of the tumors I ended up with an 8 inch incision line which

runs across the front of my neck and up onto the right shoulder.

I have been having problems getting back full range of motion in my

right shoulder. I have started physical therapy but my primary is

worried about permanent nerve damage. I still don't have any skin

sensation on right side neck, top of rt shoulder to socket line, and

about 3 inches below my incision as well.

Has anybody had any experience with this type of problem? How long

before my skin sensation comes back? What kind of time frame should I

be looking for?
