Guest guest
I beleive you're going to need to retake the whole thing. Check the DSHS website for further information. www.dshs.state.tx.us then go to EMS/Trauma Systems. -Wes Ogilvie, MPA, JD, EMT-B Austin, Texas question about long expired license Is there a refresher course I can take in order to restore my license that has been expired about 10 years? --------------------------------- Relax. Guest guest
After 10 yrs, many things have changed, I would have to agree with Wes, that you will have to start from the beginning. Guest guest
Unfortunately I have some EX medics who took advantage of of a loop hole which allowed them to become inactive(after 8-10 years), attend a refresher course then they regained their certification. I think you can still do it.

Guest guest
You can only become inactive if you're currently active. If you maintain inactive status (renew, pay the fee every time), then you can become active again (though it is more difficult than it was before this year, things changed). But, if you have long expired, you have to start all over again. maxifire@... wrote: >Unfortunately I have some EX medics who took advantage of of a loop hole >which allowed them to become inactive(after 8-10 years), attend a refresher >course then they regained their certification. Guest guest
It couldn't hurt anything to check with DSHS and make sure you have to start from scratch. Since I had been inactive for 10 years, I thought I would have to start all over and knew there was no way I had time to do that. When I checked with DSHS, since I took the time to become inactive and continue the q 4 yr extensions, I was OK. Guest guest
so if you didn't bother to become inactive... you can't do the refresher..... Guest guest
3 to and one to stay is the rule among " most " providers, however some companies do influence these decisions by reviewing all " turned responses " the crews are somewhat pressured to fly by inflences of this nature. It is sad, but a fact, if the rotors dont turn, money is not earned. > > > Date: 2006/02/15 Wed PM 10:57:14 CST > To: > Subject: Re: question about long expired license > > How do you do this? > > Keelan Cehand. > > > Re: question about long expired license > > > Anybody know of such a course in the (West) Houston area?
