Guest guest
Longterm weight loss and health is dependant on BOTH diet and exercise. It is possible to be skinny and unhealthy. One should never quit exercising or eating healthy. It's a lifelong committment. The weight will also come back if she stops eating well. > Hi All, > > I have a sister who lost weight without excersizing. Guest guest
> Dianne, I am really behind on posts and usually do oldest first but saw this and had to reply. Quite frankly I am shocked that a doctor would say such a ridiculous thing! Yes it is important to change the habits that make you overweight but exercise is soooooo important for many many reasons. Studies show that dieters alone lose muscle and fat and do not lose as much or keep it off. To preserve muscle and maintain your metabolism exercise is of the utmost importance. I have some articles on this I'll post for you to pass on to your sister if you would like. Gena > Hi All, > > I have a sister who lost weight without excersizing. Guest guest
I was thinking the same thing when I read the post. what kind of Dr. would say such a thing???? Of course you have to exercise and eat healthy too. I was extremely shocked at what the Dr. said to your sister. > > > Dianne, > I am really behind on posts and usually do oldest first but saw this > and had to reply. Guest guest
exercise is important but i htink the point the doctor was trying to make is if she isn't active now and isn't going to maintain being active changing her eating and keeping that will lose weight slowly, but if she exercises loses a bunch and stops exercising all the weight will come back. so i think in essence the point was don't do anything you won't maintain doing. > > > > > Dianne, > > I am really behind on posts and usually do oldest first but saw > this > > and had to reply. Guest guest
Oh I still can't see a Dr. saying that unless she is disabled or something drastic like that. The dr. should of prescribed if you will exercise and a healthy diet. > > > > > > > Dianne, > > > I am really behind on posts and usually do oldest first but saw > > this > > > and had to reply.
