Question for Dr. Gross' patients or others

I'm scheduled with Dr. Gross in about a month and I have a few questions that

I'm hoping some of you that have been to him may be able to help me with.

Maybe even some of you who have had resurf by another US OS may have some

answers.

1. It seems common that the patient is to sit back and let the doctor's

office handle the insurance issues, but how do you go about getting insurance

to pay for any special needs items that you may need once you get home.

There are things that I anticipate I will need/want, but I'm not sure who to

contact. I'd like to have these things in place upon returning home rather

than flying back with an Rx and then getting them. How does this all work?

2. Should I have a local OS on hand that can work in concert with Dr. Gross'

office in the event I need local care once I return home? Do I tell this

local guy ... " Sure you do a great THR, but I'm going far away for a resurf,

and when I get back I want you support it and help me? "

These may sound a little off the wall, but I'm stressing over this surgery in

a big way.

One other question, does any one have any great recommendations for stress

reducing CD's? I know there are a TON of them out there and it's hard to

sort through the goofy ones that start with.... " focus on your little toe,...

now breathe deep and exhale... focus on your second to littlest toe and

breathe deep and exhale... dats very nice, now let's focus on the middle toe,

breathe deep and exhale. "

Hello.

I can't help with your questions concerning Dr. Gross and insurance, but

perhaps I

can help with the other parts of your e-mail.

2. I would suggest having a local OS in your home town. I think it is

important to

have one in the case of any complications, questions you may have, or

unrelated

issues (or related). I ran all my info by my OS and asked if he'd agree

to help with

my follow up. Much to my surprise (lol) he agreed and said he'd help any

way he

could. I feel secure knowing that he is here to cover any possible

emergency.

3. I have a few tapes I like from this company www.healthjourneys.com I

own the

EASE PAIN and SUCCESSFUL SURGERY. The Surgery one is a 2-parter, part one

is guided imagery and part 2 is music to bring into surgery with you.

Successful

Surgery and some of this company's other tapes have been " branded " by many

different hospitals to give their patients. AARP published research last

month that

stated that people who listen to such tapes recoup faster. You can listen

to their

CD's (as a sample), if not at this website, then at some others who put

these same

tapes (at higher prices) on their websites. I really love the ease pain one

and listen

to it daily.
