Qs on LID: Why no beans? etc.

Hi,

Forgive me if these questions have been asked and answered already, but I

have a few lingering queries as I prepare my last batches of food and

settle in for my 7 week descent into hypo-hell in prep for RAI.

I was just reading through the LID cook book and it says to avoid the

following beans: navy, kidney, pinto -- (all my favorites !)

I would like to make homemade baked beans without iodine (good source of

protein) --- but am wondering if the beans themselves, mentioned above,

contain iodine?

I am also confused about SEA SALT -- some say it is OK, the LID cookbook

says it is not. Is it a question of additives. I.e. Does all natural

no-additive sea salt have iodine? Also is iodine the same thing as iodide?

Any advice would be appreciated.

cheers,

claire
